Rupes DA Microfiber Polishing Pad Coarse

The Rupes DA Microfiber Polishing Pad Coarse is the most aggressive pad in the Rupes DA microfiber lineup and the first step in a correction routine on heavily damaged paint. The blue microfiber cuts noticeably deeper than a regular foam pad, so you remove deep scratches, holograms and dull, oxidized paint effectively without immediately reaching for a more aggressive compound. Between the velcro backing and the microfiber sits a foam interface that spreads machine pressure evenly across the surface, giving you a consistent result over the whole section. Built for dual action polishers, the pad comes in 130mm and 160mm, so it fits most common backing plates. Use this coarse pad as the first step on heavy correction work, then follow with a medium and soft pad to remove swirls and fine scratches until you reach an even, glossy finish. For lightly damaged paint, a medium pad alone is often enough.

How to use

1. Attach the pad to a clean 130mm or 160mm backing plate and apply three to four drops of cutting compound onto the pad.

2. Spread the compound first at low speed over a section of roughly 40 by 40 centimeters.

3. Work the section at medium to high speed with overlapping passes until the pad feels drier and the scratches visibly reduce.

4. Clean the pad in between with a pad brush and repeat per section, then follow with a medium and soft pad for the finish.

Pair this pad with Rupes DA Coarse Cut compound and a Chemical Guys TORQ 22D backing plate, then buff off with a thick microfiber towel.
