That depends a lot on the type and conditions. Gel and paper air fresheners last around two to four weeks on average. Products hung at the vent go faster with higher airflow. Liquid refills or clip-ons typically last longer.

Too strong a scent can cause distraction, nausea or headaches, especially on long drives or with children or pets in the car. Always use moderately dosed products and ensure ventilation. Don't hang large danglers in positions that block your view.

Cigarette smoke gets everywhere: into the upholstery, headliner, air conditioning and plastic.
