Lighting

Without the right lighting, you miss defects that become visible later during polishing or coating. A strong, well-positioned work light reveals holograms, swirls, and dust inclusions that go unnoticed in daylight. Detail lights with a high colour temperature (5000-6500K) best replicate daylight and show the true condition of the paint.

Work lights with a wide beam illuminate large panels at once; inspection spotlights with a narrower beam are used to scan panel by panel for specific defects. In a dark garage with only fluorescent tubes, you miss half of what is there; invest in good LED lights you can direct at the car.
