A rain-repellent coating changes the way water behaves on your windscreen. Above 60 km/h droplets blow off on their own without needing the wipers. Below that, water sheets off in large beads so you always keep a clear view, even in heavy rain.

The secret is a thin hydrophobic layer that bonds to the glass at a molecular level. Water finds little grip and beads immediately. A side benefit: dirt, insects and road spray also bond less easily, so the screen stays cleaner between washes.
