Rupes DA Microfiber Polishing Pad Medium

The Rupes DA Microfiber Polishing Pad Medium is the second step in the Rupes DA microfiber system and removes swirls, haze and light holograms after a coarse pad has handled the heaviest damage. The yellow microfiber still offers solid cutting power, but noticeably softer than the coarse version, so you work in a controlled way without introducing new marks. As with the coarse pad, a foam interface sits between the velcro backing and the microfiber, spreading machine pressure evenly for a consistent result across the section. The pad suits dual action polishers and comes in 130mm and 160mm, fitting most common backing plates with a 130mm diameter and 12mm thickness. Use this medium pad after the coarse step, or as the first step on paint with only swirls and no deep scratches, then follow with the soft pad for the final high gloss finish.

How to use

1. Attach the pad to a clean 130mm or 160mm backing plate and apply three to four drops of medium polish onto the pad.

2. Spread the polish first at low speed over a section of roughly 40 by 40 centimeters. (This lets the polish soak evenly into the microfiber before you increase pressure.)

3. Work the section at medium speed with overlapping passes until swirls disappear and the paint looks clearer.

4. Clean the pad in between with a pad brush, then follow with the soft pad for the final high gloss finish.

Pair this pad with Koch-Chemie Fine Polish and a D-CON Rupes Bigfoot backing plate, then buff off with a Shiny Garage Premium Finishing microfiber towel.
