Flex XFE Backing Plate

This original backing plate is made for the Flex XFE polisher and replaces a worn or damaged plate. The hard outer shell provides rigidity, while the soft foam inner layer supports polishing and absorbs vibration. If you normally work with the standard 150mm plate and notice some vibration, switching to the smaller 75mm or 125mm version gives a more comfortable fit with less shake. This backing plate comes with the matching mounting bolt, so you can fit it straight away. Both sizes are selectable on this page, depending on the polishing job and the pad diameter you're using.

How to use

1. Turn off the polisher and unscrew the old backing plate using the mounting bolt. (Make sure the machine has come to a full stop before loosening the bolt.)

2. Fit the new Flex XFE backing plate in your chosen size onto the machine. (Pick the 75mm plate for precision work or the 125mm plate for larger surfaces.)

3. Tighten the mounting bolt firmly and check the plate spins true before you start polishing. (A plate that spins true prevents unnecessary vibration and an uneven polishing result.)
