Chemical Guys Flexible Dual Action Backing Plate

The backing plate determines how evenly a polishing pad contacts the paint. This Chemical Guys plate is cast from OEM-grade urethane, rigid enough to transfer rotation, flexible enough to follow body curves. The result is uniform pressure across the entire pad surface, even on edges and raised panels. The material also minimizes heat transfer, reducing thermal stress on the paint during longer polishing sessions. The Hook & Loop interface locks pads firmly in place without additional fasteners.

How to use

1. Thread the backing plate onto your DA machine's spindle (Tighten firmly but avoid overtorquing to protect the threaded section.)

2. Press the polishing pad firmly onto the Hook & Loop surface (Make sure the pad is centered to prevent vibration during use.)

3. Start the DA machine at low speed and increase gradually (Lower speeds give more control around edges and contours.)

4. Remove the pad after use and clean the Hook & Loop layer (Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove loose microfibers and extend service life.)
