D-CON Clay Lube Lubricant

D-CON Clay Lube is a polymer-based lubricant specially formulated for use with clay bars, clay mitts and clay blocks. It creates a slick intermediate layer so clay glides smoothly over the paintwork without dragging or causing marring.

How it works

Without enough lubrication, a clay bar drags across the paint instead of gliding over it cleanly. D-CON Clay Lube's reflective polymer formula forms a protective layer during use, keeping your paintwork safe while the clay removes iron fallout, tar, water spots and insect residue. Soapy water and car shampoo are not substitutes: surfactants in soap deteriorate clay and reduce its cleaning effectiveness.

How to use

1. Wash the car thoroughly with shampoo and rinse off all soap completely. (Clay treatment works best on a clean surface. Use the two-bucket method for scratch-free washing.)

2. Spray D-CON Clay Lube generously onto a section of about 50x50 cm. (The surface should feel visibly wet and slick. Work section by section. Do not substitute shampoo or soapy water.)

3. Rub the clay bar or clay mitt with light pressure in straight lines over the sprayed surface. (Feel the surface becoming smoother as contaminants are picked up. Add more lube when the clay begins to drag.)

4. Pat the surface dry with a clean microfibre towel and move on to the next section. (After claying the paint is ready for polish or coating. Remove lube residue for an even bond.)
