Leather Expert Leather Colourant

This water-based colourant is available in nearly fifty colours, from deep black to subtle beige and brown tones, so you can match almost any original leather colour precisely without compromising on shade. The product builds up in thin layers to full coverage, letting you control the intensity of the result yourself without the leather stiffening or losing its natural flexibility. Because the colourant is water-based, you work without a strong chemical smell and each layer dries relatively fast before the next one goes on. For the best result, combine the colourant with an abrasive pad to prepare the old finish and a cross linker as a protective finishing layer that guarantees lasting adhesion.

How to use

1. Clean and degrease the leather thoroughly, sand lightly if needed (Use the Leather Abrasive Pad for this on a glossy finish)

2. Apply a thin layer of colourant with a sponge, cloth or spray gun (Test on an inconspicuous spot or scrap piece first)

3. Let the layer dry fully before applying the next one (Expect 2 to 4 layers for full coverage)

4. Let the final result cure for at least 24 hours before use (For lasting protection a cross linker follows once fully cured)

Apply the colourant with the Bilt Hamber Foam Applicator Pad for an even, thin layer without streaks.
