Leather Expert Leather Cleaner is a water-based cleaner for smooth, pigmented car leather. You apply it with a sponge or soft brush, let it dwell for about half a minute and wipe the loosened dirt away with a microfiber cloth. After that you feed the leather again so it stays supple. You will find the Leather Expert Leather Cleaner in the shop.
What Leather Cleaner does
Car leather picks up skin oils, dust and hand cream all day long. That grime settles into the pores and leaves the leather dull, sticky and greyed. Leather Cleaner dissolves that surface dirt and neutralises unpleasant smells such as cigarette smoke and sweat. The cleaner is water-based and works without alcohol or solvents, so it does not attack the colour layer or the finish of your leather.
Cleaning is the first step, conditioning the second. Clean without conditioning afterwards and the leather stays clean but dry. So follow up with a Leather Expert Leather Conditioner. You will find more leather cleaners and care in the leather cleaning and care category.
How to use it
Test first. Try the cleaner on a hidden spot, such as the underside of a seat, to be sure of colour and material.
Apply. Put some product on a damp sponge or soft brush and work panel by panel, not the whole seat at once.
Let it dwell briefly. Let the cleaner sit for about thirty seconds so the dirt loosens, and rub lightly on stubborn spots.
Wipe off. Wipe the loosened dirt away with a clean, lightly damp microfiber cloth and let the leather dry.
Which leather it suits
Leather Expert states that Leather Cleaner is meant for smooth, pigmented leather: car interiors, furniture, bags and accessories. Do not use it on suede and nubuck, as those open materials need a different approach. If you are unsure about an unknown type of upholstery, always test on a hidden corner first.
Tips for the best result
Work panel by panel. That way the cleaner never dries anywhere before you have wiped it off.
Use little product. A lightly dampened sponge cleans better than a dripping one; leather does not need too much moisture.
Wipe with a clean cloth. A dirty cloth smears the picked-up dirt back into the pores.
Condition right after. Care soaks in best on freshly cleaned leather.
Clean your leather as often as needed, for example during every thorough interior session. For the complete picture of cleaning, conditioning and repairing, read the guide cleaning, conditioning and repairing leather.
