Leather Expert Leather Abrasive Pad

Before you recolour or coat leather, the old finish needs to be roughed up a little first, otherwise new product simply slides off. That is exactly what the Leather Abrasive Pad is made for. The pad rests on a sponge, giving you fine control as you work in circular motions over the leather. This mattes the top layer evenly without cutting into the leather itself, and significantly improves adhesion of colourant, filler or coating. At 12 by 10 centimeters, one pad is usually enough for a full set of car seats.

How to use

1. Clean the leather thoroughly first and let it dry completely (Dirt or grease under the pad causes an uneven result)

2. Sand with light pressure in circular motions over the surface (Work evenly, do not linger too long in one spot)

3. Wipe away the loosened dust with a dry cloth (The leather is now ready for colourant, filler or coating)

Wear Colad nitrile gloves while sanding and dyeing to keep your hands clean.
