Rupes DA Foam Pad Coarse Blue

The Rupes DA Foam Pad Coarse Blue is the most aggressive foam pad in the Rupes BigFoot DA range. Its blue-coded coarse cut grade tackles heavy paint defects, deep scratches and sanding marks in fewer passes than a medium pad. The low-profile design transfers energy directly from the polisher to the paint, reducing the pressure you need to apply. Rounded edges let you work safely along door frames, spoilers and tight contours without burning through the paint.

How to use

1. Attach the blue pad to an 80 mm backing plate via velcro. (Ensure the pad is centred for an even orbit.)

2. Apply 3 to 4 drops of cutting compound to the pad. (Rupes DA Coarse Cut is the preferred pairing for maximum cut.)

3. Polish in overlapping passes at speed 3-4. (Work 40x40 cm panels, raising to speed 4-5 for active passes.)

4. Wipe off residue with a microfibre towel, then switch to the yellow medium pad. (Check the paint under a detail light before proceeding.)

Pair this with Rupes DA Coarse Cut compound, then step down to the Rupes DA Foam Pad Medium Yellow, and finish with the Rupes DA Foam Pad Soft White for a swirl-free gloss.
