CTEK MXS 3.8

The CTEK MXS 3.8 is an automatic 12V battery charger with 3.8A charge current and a microprocessor-controlled 7-stage charge cycle. The unit charges, recovers and maintains the battery voltage of flooded, AGM, Gel and Calcium batteries without manual switching. The patented desulfation programme dissolves sulphate build-up on the plates, giving a partially failed battery a second chance. The Snowflake programme enables safe charging at temperatures down to -20 degrees Celsius by adjusting the charge current. After completing the cycle, the charger automatically switches to maintenance mode and monitors voltage without overcharging. Reverse polarity and short-circuit protection are built in as standard. The CTEK MXS 3.8 includes a 5-year warranty and is compact enough for garage, workshop or seasonal storage use.

How to use

1. Connect the clamps: red to positive, black to negative (Check terminals are clean and corrosion-free. For fitted batteries, optional eyelet terminals allow a permanent connection.)

2. Connect the mains cable and select the correct programme (Standard for flooded batteries, AGM mode for AGM and GEL, Snowflake programme when temperatures are below 0 degrees Celsius.)

3. The 7-stage charge cycle starts automatically (The MXS 3.8 runs through desulfation, soft charge, bulk charge, absorption, analysis, reconditioning and maintenance. For a sulfated battery, the recovery programme starts first.)

4. Disconnect after completion or leave connected in maintenance mode (For seasonal storage, leave the charger connected; maintenance mode monitors and tops up without overcharging.)
