Colad UV Lamp Professional

The Colad UV Lamp is a professional LED UV curing lamp with 18 high-intensity UV LEDs at 395 nm, the wavelength used industrially to polymerise UV mastics, UV primers and UV coatings. Its key advantage over thermal drying (IR or oven): no thickness loss in the dry layer. UV-curing products contain little to no solvents, so the layer volume remains unchanged during polymerisation. This results in a more accurate build-up and less corrective sanding. The lightweight, ergonomic design with intelligent cooling makes the lamp suitable for sustained use on both precision repairs and larger surface areas. The complete set in a carry case includes safety glasses, gloves and a UV filter, so you can get to work straight away.

How to use

1. Confirm your product is UV-curable at 395 nm (Check the product information of the UV mastic, primer or coating you are using. Non-UV products do not respond to the lamp.)

2. Put on the UV safety glasses and gloves (UV light at 395 nm is harmful to eyes and skin. Always wear the included safety glasses and gloves, and ensure bystanders leave the work area.)

3. Hold the lamp at the correct distance above the repair spot (Follow the distance recommendation of the UV product manufacturer. Move the lamp slowly over larger areas for even exposure.)

4. Expose until the layer is fully cured (Check cure by lightly running a finger along an edge: a cured layer feels firm and cool. Add another pass for thicker layers.)

For paint and coatings that require IR drying, the B-TEC IR-X3 is the right choice. Use the 3M 33786 vacuum for the sanding step beforehand, the 3M tack cloth for a dust-free surface, and Colormatic 2K Clear Coat as the finish coat on small repairs.
