CTEK MXS 5.0 T Battery Charger 12V 3.8A

The CTEK MXS 5.0 T Battery Charger 12V 3.8A is a fully automatic maintenance charger for every 12V lead-acid battery: WET, MF, Ca/Ca, AGM and GEL. You connect it with the click-and-connect connectors and the charger then runs its own 7-step charging program, including a patented desulfation program against sulfation. There are programs for small batteries, normal batteries and a dedicated Snowflake program for charging in cold temperatures. The charger works from a starting voltage of 2.0V and delivers up to 4.3A at an output voltage of 14.4V, 14.7V or 15.8V, suited to batteries from 1.2 to 160 Ah. Thanks to the float/pulse maintenance mode you can leave the charger connected long term without overcharging. Reverse polarity protection prevents damage if you connect it the wrong way round, and with IP65 protection and an operating range of -20°C to +50°C you can also use the charger outdoors or in an unheated garage. The display keeps you updated on charging status throughout the process.

How to use

1. Connect the click-and-connect connector to the battery terminals, plus to plus and minus to minus, and check that both clamps are firmly seated before continuing.

2. Plug the charger into the mains: the microprocessor automatically detects the battery type and starts the right 7-step charging program without you needing to set anything.

3. Select the Snowflake or small-battery program manually using the button on the charger housing for cold temperatures or a small battery.

4. Leave the charger connected for long-term maintenance: the float/pulse system automatically switches between active charging and a low maintenance current, so the battery never overcharges.
