Leather Expert Leather Preparer

Leather Expert Leather Preparer is the solvent you use as the second step in any leather restoration or recolouring project. It removes the original protective finish from the leather so that Leather Colourant, paint or coating can penetrate the leather surface and bond durably. Without this preparation new colour adheres insufficiently and peels over time. Apply with a cotton cloth or sanding pad and optionally combine with Leather Expert Alcohol Cleaner for additional adhesion priming on problem areas. The delicate scent makes it pleasant to use in car interior restoration work. Available in 50 ml for small repairs to 1 L for more extensive projects.

How to use

1. Clean the leather thoroughly (Remove grease, dirt and conditioner first with Leather Expert Leather Cleaner or Leather Mousse. A clean leather surface is the foundation for an effective preparation step.)

2. Apply Leather Preparer (Apply the solvent with a cotton cloth or sanding pad using circular movements. Work the leather surface evenly. For difficult areas combine Leather Preparer with Leather Expert Alcohol Cleaner.)

3. Allow to dry (Allow the treated leather surface to dry for 2-3 minutes before continuing. Ensure good ventilation when working inside a closed vehicle.)

4. Apply dye or coating (Once the leather is dry, apply Leather Expert Leather Colourant or another leather dye or coating. The preparation ensures optimal adhesion and a long-lasting result.)
