Chemical Guys HydroThread Ceramic Fabric Protector

Chemical Guys HydroThread is a ceramic fabric protector that forms a hydrophobic SiO2 layer around individual fibers, without penetrating the underlying structure. Liquids bead off the surface instead of soaking in, making it much easier to prevent stains from accidental spills.

Thanks to the patented NO-STIFF technology, the fabric stays just as soft after treatment as it was before, unlike many traditional textile protectors that leave a stiff or rough feel behind. The formula is water-based and odorless, and works on both interior and exterior textiles such as seats, carpet, parcel shelves and convertible tops.

Spray HydroThread from about 30 centimeters away in a light, even layer and work it into the fibers with a soft brush for the best result. Let it dry for twenty minutes and give it 24 hours to reach its full hydrophobic effect, which stays UV-resistant for up to 12 months.

How to use

1. Clean the fabric thoroughly and make sure it is completely dry. (Mask off non-fabric surfaces to avoid overspray on paint or plastic.)

2. Shake the bottle well and spray from about 30 centimeters away. (Sweep the bottle back and forth for a light, even coat across the whole surface.)

3. Work the product into the fibers with a soft brush. (This lets HydroThread penetrate deeper into the threads for a stronger result.)

4. Let the fabric dry for twenty minutes, longer for the best result. (Apply an optional second coat and give it 24 hours to cure fully.)

Brush carpet and upholstery with an interior carpet brush, use an applicator sponge for tight corners, wear nitrile gloves while spraying, and protect the plastic trim nearby with HydroInterior.
