Koch Chemie PSS Plast Star is a silicone-free care for unpainted plastic, rubber and tyres on the outside of your car. You apply it to clean, dry plastic, rub it in well and let it dry. What Plast Star does
Unpainted exterior plastic parts, such as bumper strips, mirror caps and wheel arch trim, fade and weather from sun and weather. They turn dull and greyish. Plast Star works with a care micro-emulsion system that restores the colour and protects the plastic. Koch Chemie states it is extremely UV-stable, has a long service life and gives the treated parts their original, semi-matte appearance back. Because it is silicone-free, you get a natural matte look instead of a plastic-like shine, and it also stops door seals from freezing in winter.
Silicone-free, and why that matters
Many cheap dressings are full of silicone oil. That gives a wet shine for a while, but attracts dust, washes off quickly and can cause problems during a later paint treatment. Plast Star is deliberately silicone-free. You get a crisp, matte look that matches how the plastic looked from the factory, and that lasts longer. For a professional, understated look that is exactly what you want.
How to use it
Clean first. Clean the plastic and let it dry completely; on dirt or grease the care does not bond well.
Apply on a sponge. Apply Plast Star neat and evenly with a sponge or applicator, spreading it thinly over the surface.
Rub in well. Rub the product in thoroughly so it lies evenly everywhere and no pools remain on edges.
Let it dry. Let it dry in fully. Wipe off any excess with a cloth so you are left with an even, matte finish.
Tips for the best result
Apply thinly; a thin layer dries to a nice matte finish, while too much product stays wet and attracts dust.
Work with a clean applicator and keep the tyres separate, so you do not smear tyre dirt onto the mirror caps.
Avoid overspray on paint and glass, and wipe off any paint you catch by accident right away.
Treat on a dry, cool day so the product can dry in and bond properly.
Where and where not
Plast Star is meant for unpainted plastic, rubber, door seals and tyres on the outside. Do not apply it where slipperiness is dangerous, such as pedals, the steering wheel or the tyre tread.
