The D-CON Thunder Grizzly is a double-sided plush drying towel of 1800 gsm in an extra-large 80x50 cm size. Why 1800 gsm and double-sided
The GSM value tells you how heavy and dense the microfiber is. 1800 gsm is substantial: the towel holds a lot of water, so you dry a panel in one or two passes instead of going over the same spot several times. That is exactly what you want, because every extra pass over the paint is another chance of scratches. Because the Thunder Grizzly is plush on both sides, you can flip it and keep drying longer before you need a second towel.
How to use it
After washing, let most of the water run off the panels first, so less is left to dry. Work from top to bottom: roof and windows first, the lower panels last.
Blot or drag, do not rub. Lay the towel flat on the wet panel and lift it straight off, or pull it slowly in straight lines following the shape of the car, without pressure. Let the plush fibers absorb the water.
Flip the towel to the second, dry side once the first is saturated. On a large car this lets you cover more panels with one towel.
For even less friction and instant protection, mist a drying aid or quick detailer onto the wet panel before you dry. The towel then glides more smoothly and you lay down a thin protective layer.
Caring for the towel
The Thunder Grizzly is lint-free, machine-washable and reusable for dozens of washes. Wash it without fabric softener, because that clogs the fibers and lowers water absorption. Never let the towel lie on the ground, or it picks up grit that damages the paint later. Air-dry it or tumble-dry on low heat.
