Koch Chemie PW Protector Wax is a fast-drying spray wax you lay over your wet paint during or after the wash. You dilute it or use it neat, spray it onto the wet car and rinse off. What Protector Wax does
Protector Wax lays a thin protective layer on your paint in one step that strongly repels water, the familiar beading and sheeting effect. Koch Chemie states it protects not only the paint but also rubber, plastic and convertible top material against fading and embrittlement. The formula contains no mineral oils and has a pH of 4.5. Because you apply it to the wet paint and rinse off, you seal your car without an extra buffing or drying step: the protection is there before you dry the car.
Neat or diluted
Koch Chemie gives two options: use PW neat, or dilute up to 1:2 with water. Neat gives the strongest beading, diluted is more economical and often plenty for in-between upkeep. For the manual method it names about 30 ml PW per 1 litre of water; count on around 13 to 19 ml of product for a whole car. Only mix what you use in one go and do not store the diluted mix. How to use it
Wash the car first. Wash the car scratch-free and keep the paint wet; the wax bonds best on clean, wet paint.
Apply PW. Spray a pre-diluted mix or neat PW evenly over the wet paint, panel by panel.
Spread briefly. Optionally spread the product lightly with a clean sponge or cloth so it lies evenly everywhere.
Rinse and dry. Rinse the whole car thoroughly with plenty of water before the product dries, then dry with a plush drying towel.
Cold, hot or foam wax
PW works as a cold wax, hot wax and foam wax, by hand or by machine. At home the cold method is easiest: apply to the wet paint and rinse off. Hot wax runs through a hot-water system as in a car wash, and foam wax you apply with a foam lance, always pre-diluted and never neat in the reservoir. Work out of bright, direct sunlight and do not let the product dry in, and you avoid stains and keep an even result.
Tips for the best result
Always start on a clean car; lay PW over dirt and you seal that dirt in.
Work panel by panel so the product does not dry in before you rinse.
Rinse generously with plenty of water to avoid streaks.
Repeat the treatment after every wash to keep the water repellency topped up.
