Step by step
The vehicle is first fully cleaned with snow foam and a hand wash to remove all surface dirt. This is essential to prevent loose particles from damaging the paint during the polishing process. Wheels, sills, and wheel arches are treated separately.
The paint surface is treated with iron remover and tar remover to eliminate invisible contaminants. We then carry out a clay bar treatment to remove all bonded particles from the surface. The result is a mirror-smooth surface ready for polishing.
Using a digital paint thickness gauge, we measure the paint thickness at multiple points on each panel. This determines how much correction is safely possible without thinning the paint. For thin paint or resprayed panels, we adapt our technique for a safe result.
Using professional Rupes and Flex eccentric and rotary polishing machines, we work in multiple steps: cutting (coarse correction), polishing (refinement), and finishing (final finish). Each step uses a specific combination of pad and compound. We remove swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and holograms for a perfect result.
After polishing, the paint surface is wiped down with IPA (isopropyl alcohol) to remove all polishing residue. Under specialist inspection lighting (LED panels and sunlight), we check each panel for any remaining imperfections. Only when the result is perfect do we proceed.
Finally, we apply a high-quality protective layer: wax (3 months), sealant (6 months), or ceramic coating (2–9 years). This protects the polished paint against UV radiation, dirt, and light scratches. All details such as door jambs, rubber seals, and trim pieces are finished.
