Step by step
We begin with a visual inspection of the headlights to assess the degree of yellowing, haziness, and any damage. The surrounding paintwork, bumper, and grille are carefully masked off with painter's tape to prevent damage during the sanding process.
The weathered and yellowed outer layer of the headlight is systematically removed through wet sanding in multiple steps with increasing grit sizes. We start coarse (800–1000 grit) to remove the damaged layer and work up to fine (2000–3000 grit) for a smooth surface.
After wet sanding, the headlight is machine polished with a polishing machine and compound. This restores the clarity of the polycarbonate and returns the headlight's transparency. We work in multiple polishing steps for a crystal-clear result.
Finally, we apply a durable UV-protective coating that protects the headlight against renewed yellowing and haziness caused by sunlight. This coating significantly extends the result and lasts 1 to 2 years or longer, depending on exposure.
