Motorcycles are exposed in ways cars simply are not. Chain grease, brake dust, road tar, insect residue and water all reach components that are normally hidden away. An automatic car wash is obviously not an option, and pressure washers used carelessly can force water into bearings and electronics.
At T&H Car Care in Borne, we clean motorcycles safely by hand using low-pressure rinsing and professional cleaning products suited to each material. Painted fairings, chrome, alloy, rubber and leather all get individual attention. We degrease the drivetrain, clean wheels and dress all surfaces for a showroom-fresh finish.
Riders from Rijssen, Almelo and across Twente bring their bikes to us for regular maintenance cleans and pre-season refreshes. We work on all makes and styles, from touring bikes to sport machines and classic motorcycles.
Step by step
We assess the type of motorcycle, the materials and the degree of soiling. Sensitive components such as the exhaust, electrics, air filter and bearing points are covered or protected where necessary. The engine must have cooled down before we begin to prevent thermal damage.
Using a special pre-wash and insect remover, we treat the entire vehicle to loosen insect residue, tar, chain grease and surface soiling. This prevents coarse particles from damaging the paint during the hand wash that follows.
The motorcycle is fully washed by hand with pH-neutral shampoo and soft brushes. We always work with low pressure — never high pressure on sensitive components. Wheels, spokes, brake callipers, engine block, frame and all visible parts are individually cleaned.
After the hand wash, the motorcycle is carefully dried with compressed air to blow water out of all crevices, bolts and hard-to-reach areas. All surfaces are then dried with clean microfibre cloths to prevent water spots.
All chrome parts are polished, painted surfaces are treated with wax or sealant, plastic parts are nourished and protected against UV fading. The chain is cleaned and re-lubricated. Windscreen, mirrors and lights are finished streak-free.
