Restoring truly neglected or demanding paint requires a systematic, multi-stage approach with professional equipment and expert knowledge of different paint systems.
High End Polishing at T&H Car Care in Borne involves two to three polishing stages, each using progressively finer Menzerna compounds on Rupes and Flex machines. We start with paint thickness measurements, then work through cutting, refining and finishing stages until every defect is removed and the paint achieves maximum clarity and depth.

Step by step
Under professional LED inspection lighting, we analyse the complete paint condition: swirl marks, scratches, holograms, oxidation, stone chips, and other imperfections are mapped panel by panel. Paint thickness is measured at multiple points and documented to determine a safe polishing strategy.
The vehicle is carefully cleaned with osmosis water (lime-free), snow foam, and pH-neutral shampoo. We use ultra-soft wash mitts and the two-bucket method. For exclusive vehicles, we take extra precautions to prevent scratching during the cleaning process.
The paint surface is treated with iron and tar removers, followed by a clay bar treatment with finest grade clay. This removes all bonded contaminants for a perfectly smooth base. For scratch-sensitive paints, we use clay with an extra-fine structure.
Using professional Rupes and Flex polishing machines with Menzerna premium compounds, we carry out a 3- to 4-step polishing procedure: heavy cutting (coarse correction), cutting (refinement), polishing (gloss build-up), and ultra-finishing (final finish). For soft paints, we work at lower speeds, reduced pressure, and with specialised soft pads.
After each polishing step, the surface is checked under inspection lighting. After the final step, the entire vehicle is wiped down with IPA to remove all polishing residue. Panel by panel, we verify the result for absolute perfection — holograms, buffer trails, and remaining imperfections are not acceptable.
After polishing, we apply a premium protective layer: Gtechniq ceramic coating, high-end sealant, or the finest grade carnauba wax. All details are finished: emblems, trim pieces, sills, window seals, and exhaust tips. The final result is reviewed together with you.
